Our Pubs
The Red Lion - Manningtree
42 South Street, Manningtree, Essex, CO11 1BG | www.redlionmanningtree.co.uk |
As Manningtree’s best freehouse we source a superb selection of Guest ales and ciders from local breweries and some more traditional brews from further afield. These can all be sampled and enjoyed in our comfy chesterfields and when it’s time to go home we have flagans perfect to take home 2 or 4 pints of your favourite beers.
In keeping with traditional pubs we have an open fire on through the colder months, perfect to finish that walk with the dog and relax with a pint of quality ale. The Pub has a large 60 -130 capacity function room to the rear of the property for parties and private events, it does get booked very quickly so please don’t delay. During the summer our Courtyard garden is a real sun trap offering a sheltered space to relax late into the evening.
The Marlborough - Dedham
Mill Lane, Dedham, Essex CO7 6DH | www.themarlboroughdedham.co.uk |
The Marlborough has a strong story behind it, with landlord couple Tom & Josie giving the historic 15th-century pub a real new lease of life. After taking it on in 2017, they oversaw refurbishment work to improve the guest rooms and modernise the kitchen, helping preserve the building’s character while making it work better for today’s visitors. That combination of history, hospitality and hands-on ownership gives The Marlborough a particularly personal feel in the heart of Dedham.
The Nelson - Ipswich
81 Fore Street, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP4 1JZ | www.thenelsonipswich.co.uk |
A country pub in the heart of the town, The Nelson has always been a favoured drinking spot for residents and visiting sailors in Ipswich. In keeping with all our traditional pubs we have open fires on through the colder months, perfect to finish that walk with the dog and relax with a pint of quality ale. The Pub has a small snug bar suitable for groups of 12-20, it does get booked very quickly so please don’t delay. During the summer our Courtyard garden is a real sun trap offering a sheltered space to relax late into the evening, with coverings during the winter this is a great little hide away.
The Swan – Holbrook
The St, Holbrook, Ipswich IP9 2PZ
The Swan is a friendly, characterful village pub with strong community roots. Since reopening under owners with local connections, Adam and Jo have helped create a relaxed local with good beer, live music and a genuinely neighbourly feel. The pub has also supported local causes, including fundraising events for East Anglian Air Ambulance, which adds a bit more personality to what is already a much-loved Holbrook local.
The Hare & Hounds – Leavenheath
Harrow St, Leavenheath, Essex CO6 4PW
The Hare & Hounds is a proper village freehouse run by William and Chantal Raymond, who have helped make it a real hub for Leavenheath and the surrounding villages. Alongside real ales, home-cooked food and a busy calendar of quizzes and events, the pub has also played its part in local fundraising — including quiz nights that have supported Leavenheath Cricket Club. It feels like exactly what a country pub should be: welcoming, well run and closely tied to its community.
Wrabness Community Bar – Wrabness
Wrabness Community Bar is a little different from a traditional pub, and that is exactly what makes it special. It is run entirely by volunteers and sits at the heart of village life, giving residents, walkers, beach hut owners and visitors a warm welcome beside the station. The wider shop and bar operation is supported by around 20 to 30 volunteers, and recent community feedback has helped shape plans to make the bar even more welcoming — a lovely sign of a place that genuinely belongs to the people who use it.
